The Faculty of Sciences in Al-Asaba, University of Gharyan, in collaboration with the Libyan Association for Paths of Knowledge, organized a scientific seminar on Thursday, February 15, 2024, titled *"Research and Scientific Publishing: Issues and Challenges"*. The seminar was held at the college theater and witnessed wide participation from professors, teaching assistants, postgraduate students, researchers, and those interested in scientific research from universities including Gharyan, Nalut, Al-Asmariya, Bani Walid, and Tripoli.  

Key attendees included the Head of the Scientific Associations Department at the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, the Head of the Academy Gharyan Branch, the Director of the Human Development Institute at the Academy, several college deans, the Director of the Research and Consultation Center at the University of Gharyan, and many university officials.  

The seminar tackled various topics, including:  

- Fundamentals of scientific research.  

- Skills and obstacles in scientific research.  

- Basics of publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.  

- Journal classifications in global databases.  

Five lectures were presented addressing these topics.  

In conclusion, several recommendations were made to promote and develop scientific research, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants.
